JEE Main Cut off 2014-Minimum Marks required for JEE Advanced

NOTE- This articles explains the following doubts of JEE Main Aspirants of this year 2014 who appeared in JEE Main offline exam held on 6th April 2014 or online exams for paper 1 seeking admission into B.Tech/B.Arch in IITs, NITs & other CFIs.

  • How much marks needed in order to be allowed for JEE Advanced Exam?
  • Minimum marks required to appear in JEE Advanced 2014 Exam?
  • JEE Main 2014 Cut off for sitting in JEE Advanced Exam?
  • Marks required to get a rank under top 150,000 merit list in JEE Main?

JEE Main 2014 cut off for appearing in JEE Advanced 2014 exam is the minimum marks to be obtained in order to get into the merit list of top 150,000 students who are allowed to sit into JEE Advanced exam.

As per official sources, the JEE Main 2014 cut off will not differ this year as compared to previous year. The officials said

“No major changes in syllabus or paper pattern has been done hence we can expect approximately same cut off as that of previous year. More precisely, an increment or decrement of  5-10 marks in respective categories.”

Last Year JEE Main Cut Off  for Appearing in JEE Advanced

Cut-off Score
Common Merit List (CML)
113 (31.38%)
Other Backward Class (OBC – NCL)
70 (19.44%)
Scheduled Caste (SC)
50 (13.88)
Scheduled Tribe (ST)
45 (12.5%)

As per the observation, the marks will vary same as that of previous year. Hence if you lie under general category we need to score more than 120 marks (we believe an increment in cut off this year).
So if you are wishing to register for JEE Advanced 2014, you need to obtain the marks greater than the cut off.

Exact cut off for JEE Main 2014

That will be declared by the officials after the JEE Main 2014 result declaration. Obviously CSAB will be releasing the cut off after the exam. once declared we will update this page with exact cut off.

Out of 360 marks, the cut off for General category is almost 32% and for OBC category aspirants, it should be 19-22% and for SC students, it is less than 15% and less than 13% for ST aspirants.

Expected Cut off from Coaching Institutes (FitJEE, Bansal & others)

As the cutoff depends upon various factors like number of candidates, question paper difficulty level. The JEE Main 2014 cut off will be updated as soon as the coaching institutes release the expected cut off for JEE Mai 2014 exam.

Name of The Institute Expected Cutoff
